"Village Ford"
Carroll Shelby built the first Mustang GT-350 in early 1965 to go SCCA racing in the B production class. In 1967 the GT-500 with the big block 428 was offered along side the GT-350. Both Mustangs were continually civilized and refined into the luxo-muscle car that bowed out in 1970. Today the Shelby Mustangs are demanding incredible prices at the auto auctions.

"4501 Irving Park Road"
Always spelled with the distinctive backwards "K", Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago was one of the best known "super dealerships" of the muscle car era. Nickey went racing early, starting with NASCAR in 1955, then on to road racing with Dan Blocker. In 1965 Nickey went to the drag races in a car sponsored and equipped for Dick Harrell. By then Nickey Chevrolet was largest supplier of Genuine Chevrolet Parts and speed equipment. They had two locations by partnering with Bill Thomas in Anahiem, California. The showroom in Chicago always sported a few 427 equipped Camaro and Chevelles.
"4501 Irving Park Road"is available as a limited edition of only 950 prints, plus 95 artist proofs. Each print measures 18" x 26", and is printed on high quality acid free paper trimmed to 22" x 28".

Don's Place
We all know the story. A small block Chevrolet dealership owned by a road racer, he builds some special cars and becomes a legend. The few hundred cars that Don Yenko built, starting with the Corvair Stinger have become some of the most sought after collector cars. That same sleepy little town in western Pennsylvania, Cannonsburg also produced Perry Como and Bobby Darrin. Hours of research went into making "Don's Place" as accurate a depiction as possible. I talked to Yenko historians, Canonsburg historians and several people who used to work for Yenko Chevrolet. A special thanks goes to Dave Avolia and Tom Clary for all their help with this painting.

Give It Some Gas
It's the summer of 1974 and the end of an era. OPEC continues to put the squeeze on the gas nozzle, Sunoco 260 is up over 50 cents a gallon and those 440's and four barrel carbs drink that stuff like water. Congress is starting to talk about a national 55 mile per hour speed limit. This print by award winning automotive artist David Snyder pays homage to that era. So fill it up and "Give it Some Gas", there are places to go, people to see and place to go, let's hit the road.
